Grayhawk is a master-planned community in the highly desirable North Scottsdale area. It is just North of the Loop 101 Freeway, between Scottsdale Road and Pima Road. There are approximately 3,800 homes, ranging from inexpensive family homes/condos to gated multi million-dollar golf estates that have spectacular mountain views. There are many distinct neighborhoods that are interconnected and offer gorgeous views of Pinnacle Peak and the McDowell Mountains. The community is less than 30min away from Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport, Arizona State University, Old Town Scottsdale and Downtown Phoenix.
Grayhawk real estate is a great community for families, providing multiple pocket parks, green belts, playground areas, community pools, and lighted tennis/basketball courts, all within walking distance. The 29 acre Thompson Peak Park and the 13 acre Grayhawk Park offer additional lighted tennis/basketball courts, softball/baseball/soccer fields, volleyball courts and playgrounds. The Boys and Girls Club of Scottsdale Thunderbirds Branch provide after school programs, sports, and summer camps. The Appaloosa Library, one of many Scottsdale Public Libraries, is nearby and offers various programs for kids throughout the year. The Grayhawk community is part of the Paradise Valley School District and feeds into Grayhawk Elementary, Mountain Trail Middle School, and Pinnacle High School. El Dorado Private School, which is adjacent to Grayhawk Elementary, is a private school option and offers extended before and after care programs for 2 1/2 yr olds to 8th graders.
Grayhawk is also great for those looking for a community that offers many amenities and a resort like lifestyle. Grayhawk Golf Club offers two 18 hole public courses that are kept in pristine condition. There are many other top rated golf courses nearby, like the TPC Scottsdale, which hosts the annual and crowd pleasing Waste Management Phoenix Open. Great golf courses can also be found at the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess Hotel, Westin Kierland Resort & Spa, Four Seasons Resort Scottsdale, and JW Marriott Desert Ridge, which are all within 15 min from the Grayhawk community. Westworld of Scottsdale is only 10-15 min away and it hosts numerous events throughout the year, including the very popular Barret-Jackson Scottsdale Auction and the Arabian Horse Show. There are plenty of opportunities to hike at nearby Pinnacle Peak and McDowell Sonoran Preserve, which offers 120 miles of non-motorized, multi-use trails (hike/bike/horse). There is also a dog friendly 30 mile interconnected trail within the Grayhawk community that allows for hiking, biking, and jogging.
Approximately seven miles away is the popular Kierland Commons, Scottsdale Quarters, and Desert Ridge shopping centers. But if you don’t want to leave the community, there are plenty of restaurants and shops at Grayhawk Plaza and Hayden Peak Crossing that are walking distance.
